Located in Redwood City, CA, we are a non-profit organization, providing physical education programs for over 4,000 elementary (K-5) students in 8 schools in the Redwood City School District. 75% of the PE+ students are on free or reduced lunch programs. As part of the Peninsula Community Center, the PE+ mission is to use sports/fitness to build healthy meaningful personal connections that bring hope & healing so that the Peninsula thrives.
PE+ is seeking a year-round, Assistant Director position (full time + benefits) starting as soon as possible. This position is for someone who:
- Loves sports/fitness and working with kids
- Is a lifelong learner and passionate about developing leaders
- Thrives in a team-based organization and start-up environment
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience (and/or equivalent combination of education and experience) working with youth and athletics. A successful candidate in this position will:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (must include experience in management or a relevant field)
- Experience in developing and working with financial systems and budgets
- Proven ability to engage, equip, and empower groups of 7 and/or more direct reports
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative partnerships with peers, partners, and suppliers
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Ability to develop and implement marketing and communications project
- Passion for working with kids and fitness
- Self-starter and entrepreneur
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required
- College Degree preferred
- Grant writing and fundraising experience is a plus

Compensation: $58,240.00 - $65,000.00 per year
