DEPARTMENT:  School-Aged Child Care (SACC)
REPORTS TO:  SACC Program Manager
CLASSIFICATION:  M4; Temporary; Part-Time; Non-exempt

Principal Objective
Under the direct supervision of the Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) School Aged Child Care Program Manager, the Swim and Gym Camp Drivers are responsible for the safety and supervision of their campers while transporting them to and from their field trips. Drivers are a representation of PCC School Age Child Care to Redwood City families. 

Job Summary
A Swim and Gym Camp Driver is a positive role model who manages and engages in conversation while driving the campers to and from Peninsula Covenant Church. Drivers are expected to arrive to PCC on time, pick up the kids on their lists, and safely drive to the field trip location. Swim and Gym Camp Drivers will transport the children in a 9-seat passenger van. Drivers play a crucial role in helping make the Swim and Gym Camp a memorable enrichment experience for campers.

Schedule
Program Duration: June 17th - August 9th
Thursdays:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm (the full length of a field trip - time may vary within this window)
**Must be able to work 2 or more Thursdays**

  • Professionalism: Punctuality, proper work attire, positive attitude, excellent attendance, and uses appropriate language with campers and staff at all times.

  • Reputation: Prioritizes community building and helps strengthen School Age Child Care’s relationship with the local parent community.

Principal Roles and Responsibilities 
  • Learn and implement camp rules and policies. 
  • Excellent with children and able to supervise up to 6 children.
  • Safely navigate Redwood City to transport campers to PCC.
  • Communicate and work with counselors, office staff, and parents to discuss camper behavior and progress. 
  • Follow injury procedures at all times. 
  • Be aware of camper safety at all times.  
  • Strive to live out the School Age Child Care mission and vision. 
Physical Requirements and Experience
  • Able to drive for an extended period of time.
  • Able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of equipment. 
  • Drive a 9-seat passenger van.
  • Complete a background check
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience working with kids in a camp setting.
  • Credential: 21+ years old with a Driver's License. Must have a clean driving record.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
