PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIP
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE
The Swim Team Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the coaching, supervision, and administrative operations of the Aquatics Department. This position provides coaching coverage for Masters and Swim Team groups, supervises team operations during practice hours, and assists with swim team scheduling, communication, and event planning. The role also includes management presence on weekends with administrative support on weekends as needed.
WORKWEEK
- Must be available to work 4 evenings (swim team hours: M-Th 4-8pm, Fri 4-6pm) and one weekend day.
- Available to work summer holidays.
- Hours and shifts vary, Weekly hours range: 20-28 hours.
- Coach assigned Swim Team groups and Masters practices.
- Serve as Swim Team Supervisor during all swim team practice hours to ensure coaches are supported and not alone on deck.
- Provide sub coverage for any Swim Team groups when a coach is out.
- Manage year-round coaching schedules, compile set examples for each group, and create coaching tips to guide staff.
- Maintain and manage swim team check-in sheets, emergency contacts, and rosters.
Assist in planning and coordinating Swim Team events.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a swim instructor or swim coach.
- Strong knowledge of water safety, swim instruction techniques, and coaching.
- Minimum age of 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be in the water and sun for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform all American Red Cross Lifeguard rescue skills, including but not limited to diving up to 12 feet, treading water for extended periods, CPR, rescue breathing, in-water spinal backboarding, and using an AED.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds occasionally and 15-20 pounds frequently.
- DOJ background clearance required.
- Must adhere to and model PCC’s Safe Church policies.
